Nature of contract Anti Ligature Bedroom Casegoods
The Forster Green hospital, was established 1896. The building in which the services for Child and Adolescent were housed was built in the 1920’s as a nursing home and deemed unsuitable for the delivery of modern psychiatric care for children and families.
Capital funding was granted via the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, to provide a modern high quality environment to better meet the needs of vulnerable children and families into the future. The project was delivered by the Belfast Trust and designers were McAdam Design and Main Contractors Farrans Healthcare.
Complexities
To ensure our capability and capacity to deliver we engaged with the Client and Design team from an early stage. We facilitated a Stakeholder visit to our Mid Ulster premises, where samples and mock ups were available for the Client’s inspection and sign off.
Our extensive experience working within the wider private and public health sector enabled us to critique our product design and advise the project stakeholders on suitability.
Given the end use of the building, careful consideration was given to the design and construction of our products. Patients within this environment need protected from harm. Specialist Anti-ligature standard ironmongery was sourced and installed within the patient accommodation.
