At the top of our game


Magherafelt man Eoin McKee is on top of the world as he reaches Everest Base Camp (5360 metres) today.  The aim of his Expedition is to raise funds for local suicide awareness groups.

Eoin is a Joiner by trade, who qualified through the Specialist Joinery Group Apprenticeship Scheme. He has since gone on to work for a range of prestigious international Clients including Google, Rolls Royce and Goldman Sachs in Dublin, Belfast and Beyond.

Specialist Joinery Group were amongst a number of local businesses who sponsored Eoin’s trip. Speaking about today’s events long-time friend and colleague Seamus Donnelly said “there was a great cheer on the shopfloor this afternoon when news of Eoin’s safe arrival at base camp spread. Everest is the ultimate challenge and I greatly admire Eoin’s achievement. At this point we wish him a safe descent and a belated happy birthday, as he celebrated his birthday during the Climb.”
