Frances Hill and Gillian Anderson of Bank of England, accompanied Professor Kristin Forbes of the Monetary Policy Committee on a visit of Northern Ireland businesses. Chairman John B. O’Hagan hosted the delegation at Specialist HQ on the 19th May 2016 and the group discussed current trading conditions.
Kristin is a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury Department and served on the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers from 2003-2005. As well as holding office in the Bank of England Monetary policy committee, Kristin continues a tradition of serving in senior policy positions while maintaining her academic affiliation with Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she is the the Jerome and Dorothy Lemelson Professor of Management and Global Economics at the Sloan School of Management.
Professor Forbes academic research addresses policy-related questions in international macroeconomics, including topics such as capital flows, contagion, and financial crises.
