Specialist Commence Significant Expansion Project.
The Specialist Joinery Group Head Quarters site is again undergoing transformation. Since the opening of a 70,000 sq ft addition to the facility in 2013, the group have embarked upon another expansion project which will provide an additional 45,000 sq ft of manufacturing space.
Since 2013 the company have maintained clear focus on delivering prestige projects for a broad range of construction and interior fit out projects across sectors of pharmaceutical, healthcare, luxury residential, commercial, hotels and leisure, civic buildings and education throughout the UK, Ireland and wider continental Europe. The 2013 increase in capacity was a decisive factor in enabling the business to develop and grow. Over 92% of business is secured on a repeat custom basis from a select Client portfolio, which has encouraged the group to push forward with expansion plans.
The multi million pound investment project started in March 2017 and is now well underway. The investment will further mark the group as a leader in bespoke joinery for construction and interior fit out projects and will also firmly establish Specialist HQ at 100 Coleraine Road as a centre of manufacturing excellence. The project is being led by Managing Director, Ciaran O’Hagan, John Bosco O’Hagan, Sean O’Hagan, Contracts Director and Dermot O’Hagan, Sales Director.
The expansion comprises of an additional 45,000 sqft of manufacturing space, which will help the group increase manufacturing capacity as well as introduce innovative new technology led processes. Key additions to the group’s enhanced capability will be an extended veneering house and additional finishing and spraying facilities. The logistics and supply side of the business will also be enhanced by increased storage facilities for raw material and despatch facilities.
The project will also comprise an extensive workplace strategy project, delivering a significant increase in office space to accommodate expanding teams of project professionals who focus on the design, procurement and management of the projects completed by the group. It will also include a series of collaborative meeting spaces, client entertainment suites, staff breakout areas and focus rooms.

This project is foremost an investment in our people and their ability to provide world class joinery and the ultimate client experience.”
The company also see staff health and wellbeing as part a significant part of this project and future strategy. The new facilities will include an upgrade of restaurant, cafe and breakout facilities. A key addition to accommodation will be a fully equipped Wellness Suite, which all emphasises the group’s devotion to their people and is a testament to the unique company culture at Specialist Joinery Group.
As part of the investment programme, the group is creating substantial employment opportunities throughout the organisation from Apprentice and Graduate level to experienced craft professionals.
The project is due to complete in qtr 1 2018 and plans are in place to hold an official opening on 3rd May 2018, which will coincide with the company’s anniversary of 30 years in business.
This project is being funded by Specialist Joinery Group in partnership with Danske Bank and with capital assistance from the European Regional Development Fund.
