Director and Company Secretary
Teresa O’Hagan has been part of the foundations of Specialist Joinery Group, supporting John in his career and raising their three sons Ciaran, Sean & Dermot.
As an educationalist and former Senior Teacher at the local secondary school St Patrick’s College Maghera, Teresa has always been a strong advocate for Women in Construction and non-traditional industries. She has also been a keen promoter of the group’s Apprenticeship Programme at the Specialist Academy.
As Managing Director I have executive involvement in every aspect of Specialist Joinery Group.
We aspire to be a world recognised brand, which in the minds of our people and clients signifies excellence in interior finishing trades. It is our vision to enhance the fabric of life by working together to create amazing places in which people can live and work.
Outside of work my hobbies include Farming, Agriculture and spending time with my family.
Leads the fast track delivery programme, manages the design and contracts department, liaising with existing and potential new clients, Chair of SJG’s Health and safety committee.
Our ambition is to be the industry leader in bespoke joinery fit out, we are constantly innovating in design processes, product quality and project management which will ensure this. We utilise the latest technologies and 3D modelling techniques meaning we can overcome even the most complex design challenges to enhance our clients creative and decision making processes.

Coming from an international construction background 3 continents and over two decades has given me the skills to adapt to different market sectors which has been particularly useful for delivering projects in the Education, health and strategic projects sector.
Outside of work my hobbies include Mentoring Coaching and Hurling.
I am responsible for managing the Sales and Estimating process of the business, this includes providing efficient and thorough costing solutions, liaising with clients and ensuring our clients are completely satisfied with the end product.
My customer centric approach and commercial awareness has helped build strong brand loyalty and a solid base of repeat business. I manage a skillful team of experienced estimators who are strategically partnered with members of the sales team. A personal highlight for me has been working on Croke Park and Twickenham, being an avid sports fan it’s great to have been a part of these prestigious buildings legacy.
Outside of work my hobbies include GAA, horseracing, golf, all sports really.
Leading internal design risk reviews and communicating the outcomes to external clients, reviewing design proposals and client submittals before issue, preparing RFI lists, document control and liaising with manufacturers, engineers and architects.
I joined Specialist in 1988 as an Apprentice and have now progressed to the position of Technical director, my progression through the company is an example of how aptitude and professionalism are recognised within SJG. With over 25 years of joinery experience I have developed an extensive knowledge of technical details and fixings and an ability to solve complex technical issues efficiently.
Outside of work my hobbies include fitness and performance cars.
I am tasked with solving complex design problems as they arise in order to deliver large scale projects within program whilst coordinating with clients and key Specialist personnel both on site and in Specialist HQ.
I bring a high level of skill, experience and professionalism to Specialist Joinery Group and I’m highly experienced in working on major projects, contributing to design team meetings and advising on material specification.
Outside of work I enjoy going to the Gym, spending time with my family and playing indoor soccer.
Senior Commercial Manager
Liaising with clients both at Specialist HQ and throughout the UK, providing diligent and efficient project estimates for clients, coordinating between the client and SJG’s internal delivery team to ensure the project is delivered error free whilst driving best quality and value for the client.
As Technical Sales manager my background in accountancy and manufactured joinery has proved a vital combination. I take a practical approach to all dealings and I enjoy meeting with new and existing clients to help them overcome the technical challenges of their projects. I particularly enjoyed working in Estee Lauder, it was a very high end project and went on to win several industry awards. Outside of work my hobbies include the GAA, coaching and attending the Theatre.
Responsibilities; Implementing health, safety, quality and environmental policy and the management of skills to ensure that staff are equipped to operate safely.
I help deliver training across all departments within SJG which including Toolbox Talks, Evacuation procedures, noise and dust, forklift driving and so on, I also help the company achieve several accreditations such as being RIDOR free for 5 years and The FORS award. I enjoy the diversity of the work and interacting with new people. A personal highlight for me has been taking the shop floor through their NVQ qualification.
Outside of work my hobbies include Floristry, Sudoku, Fiction reading and playing backgammon
Drawing development, attending design workshops and contributing to design risk review meetings, preparing design proposals and submittals for the contracts manager, preparing RFI lists and finishing schedules as well as document control and updating drawings.
I joined Specialist Joinery Group in 2014 and have over 20 years’ experience in joinery manufacturing with most of it focused in the luxury residential and major project market. I enjoy working on prestigious projects throughout the UK and Ireland and getting to work with my design team.
Outside of work my hobbies include teaching and practicing Karate and most Sports.

I am responsible for producing Cad drawings, liaising with architects and clients, drawing development, attending design workshops and contributing to design risk review meetings.
I have over 25 years’ experience in the joinery industry having progressed from our production facility to our technical design office. I have a wealth of knowledge of joinery production methods and I enjoy overcoming the daily challenges presented in specialist and seeing projects completed with Aercaps European HQ being a personal Favourite. Outside of work I enjoy Hurling and the Scouts.
Producing AutoCAD drawings, attending meetings onsite, producing 3D models and coordinating BIM for Workplace strategy projects.
I’m one of our lead designers for workplace strategy. I am a keen 3D modeler and I also act as BIM coordinator on various projects. I enjoy visiting the site for the coordination of our package with other trades in the early stages of development and seeing the finished project. I particularly enjoyed working on the University of London.
Outside of work my hobbies include Football and MMA.
CAD Design Technician
Producing CAD drawings, attending design review meetings, document control and assisting project managers with design development.
I haven’t been with the company very long but in enjoyed getting to know my colleagues and the positive work environment within SJG. The Chelsea Barracks job has been a personal highlight so far, I have enjoyed the design challenges it has brought. Sales and Estimating.
Outside of work my hobbies include playing rugby, going to the cinema, attending music gigs and travelling.
Providing accurate and thorough estimates for materials, labor, and logistics of potential jobs, negotiating with suppliers to drive value for clients and liaising with existing and potential new clients.
I am a diligent and resourceful estimator with a key eye for detail and wealth of estimating experience. I enjoy the good working relationship I have with my colleagues in all departments. My favourite project to date has been Aercaps Headquarters due to the extensive design work and bespoke nature of the spiral staircase. This was an exceptional project to deliver for a global client.
Outside of work my hobbies include Gaelic Football, Soccer and Handball.
Carrying out Cost Control for projects both ongoing and at the tender stage, attending sales meetings, liaising with clients, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, coordinating with the SJG Internal delivery team to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
I am a diligent and resourceful QS, I enjoy the high commitment to teamwork across all departments in SJG which makes the many challenges we face each day a lot easier and ensures customer satisfaction and high levels of repeat business. My favourite project to date would have to be Fitzroy place, it was a logistically challenging project of major scale. I thoroughly enjoyed working for this tier one client.
Outside of work my hobbies include Shooting and Football.
I am involved in the tendering process within the company, providing cost estimations for clients, negotiating subcontracts all whilst keeping client value and SJG’s high quality standards in mind.
I work closely alongside my colleagues to secure contracts at tender stage, in addition to my Quantity Surveying role I also strive to deliver client satisfaction on all projects. 10 South Colonnade has been one of my personal highlights due to its scale and project value. I have been involved with this project from tender stage and look forward to seeing the finished project.
Outside of work my hobbies include GAA, Golfing, Indoor soccer and Motorsport.
Negotiating subcontract prices, providing project estimations and document control.
I work closely with the my estimating colleagues sending out jobs for pricing, I assist in managing project financials from the main contractor as well as our fitting sub-contractor labour assessments. I enjoy the close working relationships between the different teams in estimating, contracts, and design and site managers. Chelsea barracks has been my most challenging. It has yet to begin fitting but I have enjoyed being involved in the pre start process in pricing our fitting works and putting measures in place to ensure the job runs smoothly when it starts.
My hobbies include football, indoor soccer, listening to music and going to the cinema.
I help manage the day to day accounts of SJG including payroll duties and organizing company travel.
I enjoy the family atmosphere within the company and getting involved with charity work and team bonding exercises.
Outside of work I enjoy socialising with friends and farming and agriculture.
Purchasing & Sustainability Coordinator
Promoting sustainable procurement, sourcing of environmentally sustainable alternatives, liaising with clients and suppliers.
As purchasing and sustainability coordinator I specialize in sustainable procurement and act as a key link between SJG and our clients in terms of environmental excellence frameworks such as FSC® certification, SKA, LEED, BREEAM and now also WELL. I help find environmentally friendly alternatives to most of our materials and sustainability is at the forefront of all my purchasing decisions.
Outside of work my hobbies include Running, reading and fitness.
Health and Safety Officer
Implementing Health and safety procedures, ensuring subcontractors and suppliers comply with health and safety requirements.
I help deliver the various and continuous training programs in place in Specialist Joinery such as emergency spill policy’s and implement procedures for Specialist to meet the various ISO accreditations. I enjoy interacting with my great colleagues and the positive work environment.
Outside of work my hobbies include Craftwork, making soft furnishings, DIY and going to the cinema.
Apprentice Quantity Surveyor
Helping to manage construction costs, assisting with estimating jobs under the supervision of senior estimating staff.
I have only recently joined the company whilst completing my studies to become a QS however I am enjoying working within the sales team to develop my professional skills. I also work one day a week on the shop floor which allows me to experience a different side of the business and learn more about joinery manufacturing processes.
Outside of work my hobbies are playing Gaelic Football and indoor soccer.
