Saturday the 10th of March saw the second event in Specialist Joinery’s 2018 Charity Legacy Drive which plans to give away £100,000 this year to celebrate our 30th year in business.
The event kicked off from 9am with a delicious all day breakfast courtesy of Arbutus catering and from there the crowds began to pour in, both on Tractors and on foot. Guests of all ages were treated to live performances from fantastic local talent that included singing from Hannah Ferguson, Una McGill, Yasmin Walker and Ritchie Remo and an Irish Dancing performance by Miller school of Irish dancing. Our younger visitors were kept busy with our range of bouncy castles and indoor adventure playground.
Just before the cavalcade of tractors set off on their 30 mile journey, several of our attendees were rewarded for their efforts and received prizes for furthest distance travelled, largest break horse power, oldest tractor, best in show and of course best dressed.
Once our winners had been presented with their awards the first of over 300 tractors were released and the mammoth journey was underway, a huge spectacle to behold saw hundreds of locals line the streets for a glimpse of the enormous convoy.
Although the weather wasn’t ideal for the day we still had a brilliant showing of almost 350 tractors and over 1,000 guests received their big country breakfast.
Specialist Joinery Group would like to take this time to say a massive thank you to all those who contributed to the success of this event, including the staff of SJG who gave up their day off to help organise, coordinate and run the day, our event sponsors, those who made donations and especially all those members of the public who attended and made the day what it was. The money raised will go a long way in improving the lives of many families.
