Maghera based Specialist Joinery Group has today opened its new manufacturing facilities to the international construction market.

The facility forms part of a £3million expansion by the company, creating 35 new jobs over the next three years. Invest Northern Ireland has offered the Specialist Joinery Group £350,000 towards its expansion.

The opening and 25th Anniversary event was attended by their portfolio of international clients along with familiar faces from the Northern Ireland business, construction and sporting communities.

Speaking at the event, John B. O’Hagan, Specialist Joinery Group Managing Director said: “Over the past number of years turnover and employee numbers have grown steadily and significantly. As well as producing a top quality product, we have always placed equal importance on being a stable and secure partner with top class business credentials, highly professional and knowledgeable staff, who are clearly focused on project delivery.

“I believe it is this strategy that strongly positioned us in the market, enabling us to thrive in the current market place. With continuous investment in the latest production machinery, software and manufacturing facilities, we are able to fully utilise the skills of our people.”

The purpose built facility houses some of the most technically advanced machinery in the manufactured joinery industry.  Investment in built facilities has been complemented by a further investment in in-house processes such as CNC technologies, solid surfacing and specialist veneering equipment.

He said:  “Specialist Joinery Group is an established family business and this new 65,000 sq. ft. highly advanced and efficient manufacturing facility will allow the company to achieve its impressive growth plan over the next 10 years.

“The skilled nature of Specialist Joinery Group’s work means that investment in training and people development is a critical part of ensuring its future success.  The 35 new jobs to be created will be an important boost to the Maghera area, the local community and to the wider Northern Ireland economy.”
