Belfast’s newly opened Titanic signature building proved a fitting venue last night for the launch of the 2012 Ulster GAA senior football championship. Managers, players and officials from all nine counties were invited to the iconic building as the preparations for the Ulster championships begin in earnest.
However, the presence of Derry senior boss John Brennan and player Gerard O’Kane weren’t the only links to Derry GAA. Specialist Joinery Group, sponsors of the senior, u21 and minor teams for both hurling and football, recently completed over one million pounds worth of bespoke fitout for the building.
Managing Director John Bosco O’Hagan said:
‘We were delighted to work on the Titanic Signature Building project over the past 12 months, and in the process help to sustain local employment and put the craftmanship of our team on the world stage. I’d like to wish John Brennan and all the Derry squad best of luck for the championship ahead.’
