To celebrate “World Environment Day 2019” – Specialist Joinery Group collaborated with Ulster University, School of Architecture to award a prize to Year 1, 2 & 3 for the best use of “Sustainable Timber.”
The Category was judged by Dr Martina Murphy of Ulster University and Specialist Joinery Group, Marketing Director, Paula McCloskey who has graduated with both Bachelor and Masters degrees from the School of Built Environment at Ulster University.
Speaking about the award, Paula said “We are delighted to support this award which acknowledges environmental excellence and innovative use of sustainable timber. This award echoes Specialist Joinery Group’s philosophy. Every day we are investing in and advocating for environmental best practice across our business and projects. This ranges from adoption of a zero waste to landfill policy, introduction of solar panels, to operation of environmental accreditation and certifications. We must all play our role in preserving the environment for future generations.”
The company were pleased to provide sponsorship for 10 prizes in total on the evening. The array of talent and standard of work displayed across the exhibition must be acknowledged. Well done to all the students.
