Last week Specialist Joinery group welcomed students from education partner Sacred Heart Omagh, Spain and Poland. The international visitors were part of the Erasmus exchange programme on an educational trip. The three schools are taking part in the Green power ET Formula 24 competition which gives 11-16 year old’s the opportunity to design,build and race an electric car on some of the UK’s top motor circuits, this year taking place at Rockingham Speedway. https://www.greenpower.co.uk/
As part of the trip the students visited several state of the art manufacturing facilities in NI to view different design and process innovations. Specialist Joinery Group where of particular interest as the latest factory extension boasts the latest in precision machinery and automated systems.
The Students were given a full tour of the massive 3 acre complex and even brought their own car design with them for some tips from the Specialist team. The event was also covered by BBC Newline.
